Michael Jackson's short film for "Black or White" was the first of nine brief movies generated for recordings from Dangerous, Michael's 4th cd as a grown-up solo entertainer. As a single, "Black or White" was a global experience, topping the graphes in 20 nations in 1991 as well as 1992, including the United States, Canada, the UK, France, Spain, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

" Black or White" was licensed Gold and Platinum by the Recording Market Organization of America on January 6, 1992. The song was also chosen for a Grammy Honor for Finest Pop Vocal Efficiency – Man in 1993. Both "Black or White" and also its follow-up "Remember the moment" got BMI Urban Awards in 1993 for being two of one of the most carried out songs of the year.

The ambitious "Black or White" brief movie again found Michael pressing the boundaries of the "video" as art form. An extended prologue stars Macaulay Culkin as a boy whose dad (George Wendt) is outraged by the playing of loud rock music after bedtime. After being advised for "squandering your time with this waste," Culkin vengefully connects a guitar into an enormous speaker, blasting his papa out of the house as well as around the world, still sitting in his easy chair.

The text of the "Black or White" short film reflects the song's lyrical plea for racial as well as cultural unity. Michael is seen on the plains of Africa, the Vasquez Rocks in The golden state, and outdoors standard Russian design, singing and also dance with African tribesmen, Thai ladies, Indigenous Americans, an Odissi dancer from India and a troupe of Hopak dancers.
