Designing a Perfect Pool Table Room

Anyone that is thinking about getting a pool table will have to put some thought into coming up with a pool table room.  You have to ensure that you have space for the pool table and everything that goes together with it, and you get all the accessories that you need.  The most important consideration when you design a pool table room is making sure that you have enough room for actually playing pool after you put the table in the room.  Simply because the table fits doesn’t mean that there’s going to be sufficient room.  You would like to have at least 5 feet of playing area round the table on all sides so that there’s room for even folks using longer cue sticks to make shots comfortably.  The sides are far more significant than the ends since most shots are made of the side.  There are a number of different websites that can help you figure out the minimum amount of space you want for any given table size.

When you are sure you have a huge enough pool table room for the table of your preference, you need to figure out what accessories you want to add to the room in order to make it a fun and cosy place to play. This includes stuff like cue racks, but also bigger things like seating and lighting.

It is best if you have enough seating for the people who will be playing, and most likely some guests also. To get that pool hall experience lots of people use bar stools rather than just regular chairs, but it is up to you. Bar stools also raise folk’s heads above cue stick level so it is less likely you may accidentally poke someone when playing.

After you work out seating, you may also want to be sure that you get correct lighting. You want the tables to be well lit without a large amount of shadows so that you can see to make the proper plays.  The sort of lights you get might depend on the type of decor that you have in the room, which could be terribly basic or follow some sort of theme.
