In blues guitar the pitch used is the low one to add sad feel to the music. It is because of this reason why the sales in blues guitar are not played in high pitch. The guitar scale that is often used in the blues guitar is minor pentatonic scale. The pentatonic minor is much used in playing and that’s why it is also referred as blues guitar scale. The major pentatonic scale is also used in the blues guitar but with low frequency so it sounds softer.

The foothold of blues guitar technique is the scale on which it is played. Pentatonic is not the real blues guitar scale, you have to add some blues note to make it sound like a blues guitar scale.

When the fifth note of pentatonic scale is reduced then it produces most common form of blues scale.
Reducing the seventh note or third note is used to add the feeling of gloom and sorrow to their performances.
